I installed my new ECM from Black Bear, but the 98 Suburban K2500 7.4L security light is on and the truck starts and then immediately quits. I have done the exact PASSLOCK instructions in the sticky thread.
My truck manual says it has PASSLOCK. I left the key on for 25 minutes and the security light will not go off. I have ran this 6 different times now and the security light will never go out. I have all accessories off and the hood closed. I charged the battery and have jumper cables to my wifes car for added power, but still no luck. :banghead:

If anyone has any great ideas, or has ran into this before please enlighten me, because it won't start now with the original ECM now either.
Thanks, Rockie

Never mind, I listened to someone that I knew I shouldn't have. He had me pull the fuse for the running lights to keep them off during the relearn. Obviously that does something else also. I connected the fuse and ran the security relearn and all is good. Now for a test drive tomorrow/weekend.

Glad you have everything worked out. Pushing the parking brake in will turn the driving lights off. You will very much appreciate your BlackBear tune. All that I've done to mine and the tune is the single best mod done to mine. I'm sure you'll really tell a big difference with that 454.

Thanks for the tip, I did finally figure out that the lights went out when pushing the emergency brake. It runs great, shifts way better, and pulls great. I scanned it while driving and the timing is much better than the stock setup. I drove it about 50 miles on a hilly highway and it only downshifted about 3 times. Before the tune, it would pull all the timing out, loose power and downshift on almost any hill. When you accelerate to pass, it kicks down and it gains about 15MPH in 3-4 seconds which is really nice. So far I am very happy with it. I want to pull my boat now and see how it does pulling. I'm guessing it will do a much better job pulling now also. I wish I would have done this 5 years ago.
