Hi,

94 Suburban. Whenever I start or turn the truck off, a loud clicking can be heard from undre the passenger side dash. Seems to be coming from the (fan?) in the black plastic box for the heater/air? Only lasts about 10 seconds or so. Also happens when I push the max button for the a/c or heat.

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

It's more than likely some debris in the blower fan...more than likely an old leaf stem or something. Might be a whole nest of stuff too, who knows.

From the pass.side, look under the dash and you should see a small circular cover held up by small bolts (3 i think). Just remove those tiny bolts (1/4" or something) and remember to unplug any electrical connections going to it and then the fan can be taken down and cleaned out. It might not help but it might help it spin faster.

Thanks for the link Richard. I'm just going to uplug the thing as I don't use the a/c anyway.

Appreciate the help. from both.

You are up north. You may want to use the heater sometime in the future.

Nope. It's exactly what is posted in my link...a somewhat common problem on GMT400 trucks. The symptoms are unmistakable.
