why when im down shifting I hear i wineing sound and kinda have too force it in?? from 3rd too second and second too 1st usualy?? any suggestions on how too make it easier and cleaner shift?

That sound is probably synchronizors, they may be getting worn. That or the clutch is poorly adjusted and not disengaging fully.

What transmission is in it? You can double clutch, if it's synchronsiers it'll shift easier like that.

For example:

1) clutch in
2) first gear
3) clutch out
4) clutch in
5) neutral
6) clutch out
7) clutch in
8) 2nd
9) clutch out

and so forth

2001 silverado single cab long bed...not sure the trany in it, only 50,000 miles on the truck all stock!

where would that be and a 1/2 ton im new too this clutch just gettin used too it...

found it...it is full but lookin pretty nasty, should i change it?
