If your gonna be doing a lot of towing I would look into a roots type blower like a kennebell or whipplecharger. They make boost as soon as you hit the throttle and provide a nice boost in the rpm range you be in most of the time.

procharger still makes a blower for our motors.

why not get a used one? If your worried about it messing up just send it in for a rebuild as soon as you get it

because it might be a wastes of money the companys that made the good superchargers stop making parts for them when the stopped production which was 8 years ago so they dont have too many parts left

The blowers themselves should be able to be fixed though. AFAIK, only Lysholm and Autorotor make twinscrew blowers, the multitude of companies selling them make the mounts and crap for it to fit your vehicle. The blower itself is somewhat of a universal item.

So these companies will rebuild superchargers, but not manufacturer em..? Weird...

Fast95 has a carb on his truck.

if you're pulling a fifth wheel, and want to do better with it, do yourself a favor and ditch the small block, and put a diesel in it.

They still manufacture the same supercharger, just don't manufacture all the brackets, lines, etc... that come along with the supercharger.

wynjammer is essentially the same as a procharger and vortech, a belt driven "turbo" if i may say. ive heard alot about these setups wynjammer is by far the cheapest at $2500. priced a procharger for my 93 tbi and it was $4500 + tax with intercooler for 100 hp....wasnt worth that much to me

all great products, do the same thing, heard alot about them, ppl that have them seem to be very happy...im waiting on my whipple :)

I just wonder how much boost that Wynjammer is going to output at 2500rpm?

when i was emailing him about my 93 tbi he had said that it would make around 6 psi depending on mods and what not...looks like you can get different pulleys for it too for more or less. http://tbi-superchargers.com/ for tbi stuff and http://www.wynjammer.com/ for newer stuff

I guess no one has mentioned it yet but your 1998 truck is going to need some serious fueling mods for a superhcarger esp for towing applications unless you like your egt going through the roof half way up a hill. your truck is equipped with 19pph poppet valves there not even injectors really there not upgradable and your truck is already in a lean condition from the factory. Diesel swap, LQ swap or change trucks.

simple cure for not enough fuel, marine vortec intake, cheap-no, LQ would be cheaper but its your choice

The poppets are 23.4 lb/hr at Vortec fuel pressure.

I cant see a Wynjammer making 6 psi at 2500rpm. Usually with centrifugals you need some engine rpms to make good boost. I wouldnt want to tow at 3500rpm+ in a Vortec 350 truck.
