Just bought a BBK 80mm throttle body for my L59 engine and I noticed it's alot more peppy and seems to pull a little harder at WOT. I can't remember what forum it was but this guy seemed to think that the stock throttle body was the same size. WRONG. I measured the butterfly on the stock throttle body and the BBK one and the BBK was about 1/4 inch bigger in diameter. It was a great purchase from Summit Racing. I would recommend this purchase for people looking to get more power and acceleration. It was harder than normal to install due to the cableless throttle body but well worth the time. Also be extremely careful pulling the electirc motor out of the stock throttle body housing. BBK supplies a puller to remove it just make sure you install the bolts all the way into the housing and pull it out evenly.

What was the stock size, 80mm is huge, the biggest one I could find for my 7.4 liter was a 78mm.

Not sure what the stock size is. Some say 75mm some say 80 lol not sure I know it's not 80mm. My thinking is why would BBK make an 80mm if the stock was 80mm. I think they make an 85mm as well but I had already purchased my 80mm before I saw the 85mm.
