Ok I am going to start by with what I have.
A 1994 Chevy, 4l60-e, 305, 16196395 computer, $OD files (allot of different ones), BHMD.bin (updated BDUL.bin apparently), .xdf files, TunerPro RT 5, all the proper files I guess you could say, Moates Burn2 programmer, data log cable, GP1 package (includes 2 chips, G1 adapter, and zif socket), and the HDR1 memcal header. Also have a extra 16196395 computer with the BJLH stock memcal for a 350. You will see why later in the post.

Now, to get to the point. I am building a stock 350 in my garage but I don't have the money to spend all at once (Ya gotta love being married). So in between saving up for my monthly allowance lol I have been trying to figure out tunning with the 305 that is currently in the truck. Thank you thirdgen. Now I am NOT thinking I am going to pull 500 hp out of a stock tune but I do know there is a few hidden ponies that I would like to bring out. Ha ha ha.

The problem that I am having is that all the examples I have found on were to start like in the VE tables and stuff are no ware close to the $OD mask so 9 times out of 10 I have no idea what they are even talking about because I cant pull up an example because what they are using is totally different. I do not want someone to do this for me or give me a bin with it already done. I want to learn this hands on but I need some help. Basically what I am asking is for someone who has worked with this computer and mask pleases help me and send me in the right direction. Or at least tell me what needs to be changed. The motor is bone stock so I don't need all the bells and whistles. Just the basics. Even if anyone has a lead of were to start with this combo ($OD and 16196395) that would be awesome to.

Please guys help me out a little bit.

This is the same pcm as a 7427. Check out the beginnings of my how to article a post or two below this one. I think it will help you out substantially. If you have any questions after this keep posting questions!

I'm not sure where the confusion is with the VE tables. a VE table is a VE table. The same information for another mask, as in tuning strategy can apply to this one.

Thanks for that BadZ71, That helped me out a quite a bit.

I have read that people have disabled vats and egr. What is the reason for doing this and what is the gain from it?
What is it exactly I am looking for when data logging? Do I just need to keep an eye on the blms and try to adjust it as close to 128 across the board?
I have found a few excel worksheets that "smooth out" ve tables. Is this worth doing or is it just a waste of time?

I am sure that these questions are simple to most so please forgive my ignorance. Everyone has to start somewere..

Six_Shooter, I was referring to location sorry if I described it incorrectly.

I'm way new to tuning, But taking out EGR is so you don't have to worry about emissions BS, and you won't throw a damn code all the time, like I do..
