After several years my wheels have lost there "like new" shine. Mothers makes a great polish that works perfect, makes them look like new! My problem is I don't have the time to hand polish them out. The "power ball" to me did not get it as shiny as I like. It took me 20 minutes to get a section of 1 wheel looking the way I wanted. There is a truckstop in Kentucky I think where my father-in-law would stop in his Kenworth and let some hispanics polish his wheels and tanks in less than an hour!! Has anyone heard of anything different we can polish our wheels with to bring em back from Dullville or should I just take some Advil and a Red Bull and get busy?!:help::nana:
The biggest con of owning polished rims! I had a set before with the same issue your having. After getting them nice and shiny for the last time I put them up on this wonderful site called craigslist and bought some black ones lol. Anyway a nice coat of spray wax seemed to hold the shine for a little longer between polishes.

Smith brite metal polish, they have 2 different formulas. One agressive and the other not so much.

Alumibright but don't let it sit to long. It's an industrial type cleaner used on 18wheelers. What my friend and I used and it works great.

I have their standard aluminum polish that I used with a micro fiber cloth and lots of elbow grease. I have been wanting to use the HotRims but wasn't sure if it was worth spending money on something when I already have something to use.

i had this spray that looked like windex from Blue Coral, that worked wonders on the velle rims. spray down the rims with the Blue Coral. let it sit. rinse off with water, and dry. they looked amazing afterwards.
sadly i cant seem to find the stuff down here in miami..

Mequirers Hot Rims Polish had my polished TTT's looking like they were chrome wheels with just 1 coat of polish.
I also used it daily on my highly polished Hayabusa Frame & Swingarm during my sportbike days and it was perfect.
Best polish on the market IMO !!!!

I have polished a few aluminum boats and truck rims. And how good you want it to look depends on how much work you want to do, equipment etc. For my truck wheels, I am happy if they look good from six feet away. I usually start with an aluminum was with a good brush to agitate. Dont get too much on skin. I then wash then down good, take a mild sos with water, dry, and then hit them with the wool bonnet and orbital polisher. For best results remove from truck. The power ball is good for a quick touch up or nooks and crannys, but cannot shine like my good variable rpm buffer.

Just bought a power cone for my eagle alloys. I will update how it works after this heat wave lifts.

I wet sand my rims before I polish them. Makes them look like a mirror.

For polishing wheels I didnt find the power ball very useful either. I used Meguiar's Mag & Aluminum by hand and it looked better.
Save the power ball for headlights, mirrors, exhaust tips, etc.

From all the rain we have been getting around here and the fact that I have been driving a good deal recently my wheels are starting to get a tough to remove white haze. I figured now is a good time to try out something I've wanted to do since I first got my wheels. I ordered an Eastwood Buffing Kit and plan to use a decent drill to shine things up. I am planning to use the rouge that comes with the kit and maybe some other polishes I have around for comparison. I got is on sale for $31.00 shipped and will be trying it this week.

Just spent some time with the Mothers mag wheel polish and the Power Cone and got decent results. The wheels were neglected by the PO so I am working with a fair amount of haze. I will give it a few more tries and see how it turns out. I have Eagle Alloy 211's on my truck.

I use a bottle of polish on the Peterbilt called Sho B Shinin'. It's a green liquid rouge polish. Have'nt found anything better to date than this stuff. If there are any of the big truckstop chains close by, look for any kind of rouge polish. Stuff works great.

It will take some time but use mothers billet with the powerball. If there are any stains use at least 2000 grit and wet sand lightly. the best way i have found to keep shine is to wax them twice after polish, after 6-months i spend about 10 minutes per wheel to bring them back to mirror.

By far the best polish I have used. Use it on my rims, exhaust tip, dirtbike rims & my wakeboard tower.

The only place I can find it is NAPA or Ebay
