truck has over 240,000 miles on it. the plugs and wires are fairly new, but the wires have some burn marks from header contact and the plugs are the cheap autolites, so id like to replace those. the cap and rotor are who knows how old and probably need replacing too. so, i was thinking msd cap and rotor, taylor 8mm 90* wires, and either ac delco platnium rapidfires or e3 plugs. recommendations?

I wasn't happy with my taylor wires. Within a year they were arcing on my stock truck. The Belden wires from Napa are a high quality wire at a decent price with lifetime warranty. Many people also have decent luck with MSD wires. I would get a cap with brass contacts, be it MSD, Accel (I'm running this one), or Summit brand. Plugs go AC Delco rapidfires or NGK TR55 or TR55IX

well I'm glad they worked well for you, didn't work for me. Great at first, but deteriorated very quickly. Many guys on PT.net have the same view as me on taylors.

Weird, my dad has a set that were used on his 427 with Hooker Super Comp Headers for close to 10 years, they still look new.

Picked up some rapid fires, gap em to .060? IIRC they come pregapped and aren't supposed to be regapped but I could be wrong. Been a while since I've put em in.

Okay....

Which Taylors for a TBI?
I'm looking through the buyer's guide and I'm finding several that seem to fit, but I can't find those part numbers on their site.
The listings (on their site) for SBC with HEI connectors don't include the coil wire, though there are a lot in the buyer's guide that show 10-13" coils.

What's the difference between the various models, and which do we want for a DD at a modest cost? I'd like red, but it's not mandatory.

One issue that I have is #2 and maybe even #4 really should be a 180 or 135 boot... but most of the kits are all 90.

So, 40 or 60?

Everything I've found points to 60, so that's what I'm going with

Is that 427 a daily driver?

nope, but his 1995 GMC was, had taylor spiro pros for 7 years, and still on the truck today.
