I have an 85 silverado with stock rallys on it now which i dont mind, but i think they could be improved upon. has anybody tried putting 88-98 stock rims on a 73-87 truck? If so, do you have any pictures? around here, those rims are really cheap, so they might be one of my options.

They have more backspacing than the squarebody stock wheels, so they sit deep inside the wheelwells and look a little goofy, in my opinion.

They look very goofy.

agreed, they sit too far back inside the wheel well.

If you can figure out how far they need to come out, you can run some billet wheel spacers...

actually, if they're 5 lug wheels, they are 4" BS, just like the stock wheels. the fact that they're only 7" wide makes them look like they have deeper backspacing than they do. the 6 lug wheels have 5.5" BS, and will not clear the calipers on a stock truck.

the six lug ones don't fit over the front hubs don't know about the 8 lug rims

If what you're comparing to is an 8" Rally then a 7" wheel with the same numerical value of backspace is technically more net backspace, with the center line of the wheel closer to the outward face of the hoop. :)
