Anyone have any experiences with owning a 1991 suburban 2500? Looking to pick one of these up as my winter vehicle. Appears to be in pretty decent shape. I realize gas mileage will be bad but I think with a bit of work it could be a cool old ride. Any thoughts?

gas milage doesn't have to be bad. the first thing i look at when i look at a 91 2500 Suburban, or an R/V 3500 pickup is the trans. first look at the column, if its an OD column, look at the trans pan. it should be a sqare pan with 17 bolts. if it does, its the original trans, and a 4L80E. which is a HUGE plus.
