Saying hello from the great white north, although it was 90 plus here today. I usually hang out on a different forum, but am always looking for tips and ideas from like minded gear heads. I've got a 1977 Chev C30 3+3 Camper Special, 454, beefed 700r4, 4:10's. Its an ongoing work in progress as all these old beasts are. I'd post some pics, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet.
So when I can figure it out, I'll post.

Greetings from the deserts of AZ!! I have to say, I love the truck!! I have a 77 c20 camperspecial. Its looks like the same color, is yours metalic russet? I don't have any pics of mind, but here is the link to the dealer in WA where I had it shipped from. There is like 80 pics, plus a walk around video.
I wish mine had the 454 tho!!!!!
Welcome to the site!

You have a sweeeet truck! My paint has more orange and flake than the russet, I believe. I'm hoping my 454 wears out soon so I can dump a Vortecpro 468 in it.

Ah, that would be bad to the bone my friend! How long have you had the pickup? I just got mine about a month or so ago. I was looking for a late 70s camper special for over 2 years. Things are hard to find in my neck of the woods. Most are soooo beat up, and being used as lawn service trucks.
Is it your daily driver? I bet it likes its gas to drink!!

I've had this one since last spring and it was about the same for me, a 2 year search. I had to drive 800 miles round trip to get the thing. These trucks are typically beat to crap by the time 30 years rolls around up here.
There is not enough moolah in my bank account to use this as a daily driver; it's just a boat tow-er and junk hauler. It has a 4 speed auto, which helps a bit with the gas mileage on the highway, but it still drinks gas like jim jones drinks kool-aid.

HAHA! Thats funny man! Yeah, I use mine as a daily driver. Its not the dually, its a 3/**, but I have to fill up ($50-$60) every 2-3 days. My wife and I have cut out all out of the un necessary driving. Thats crazy that you had to drive so far to get it. I had to have mine shipped on a truck (1500+ miles) from Washington state , to AZ. It was an extra 800 bucks,(I owe my in laws now) but I didn't want to pass the truck up.
Oh, I was checking out the pics you have, and the one that has the codes, says the paint is metalic russet. I thought it looked like mine! What factory was it made in?
