im in the process of building a 350 for my 95 gmc sierra z71. im going carb and was just wondering how the 4l60e has been holding up after your carb swap? and have any problems came up after running long term? i only run it 8,000-10,000 miles a year but dont feel like tearing up the 4l60e i just built. and yes i know i shouldnt have built an E trans if i was going carb but i didnt have carb plans six months ago and being from upper michigan its not worth selling due to lack of people building rigs. when it blows ill go a different route prolly manual. thanks in advance

its not the carb you should be worried about, you should be more worried if the trans will hold upto the engine, my engine beat the hell out of my little 4L60E, ended up going TH350.

yea kinda figured but my trans $*#@ out 6 months ago so i rebuilt it 2000 stall conv, shift kit, bigger trans cooler, everything brand new and upgraded because im running 35 14.5s well now i spun 4 rod bearings and a crank bearing and i have 5,000 to build a motor so ill run trans till i kill it. guess i was kinda hoping to hear no probs from the swap itself lol. and do i NEED to have the comp tuned after this swap?? noone within a million miles of hear can tune worth a damn as far as i know.

How are you going to control the 4l60e? You will need to feed the ECM the same commands you did when the injection was installed.

I have done it, you need, VSS, CTS, TPS and hook up one wire from the distributor plug into TACH side of HEI, also i would try to run the map sensor.

Agreed, I wasnt sure if he was going to use the stock ECM or an aftermarket controller.
