I have an 85 silverado half ton 4x4 that I want some new tires on. I found a pretty good deal on some 31's. Will 31 inch tires fit on a stock height truck without rubbing at all? Any input would be appreciated. Also, if anyone has a stock height 73-87 with 31's on it, could you post a pic? thanks.

Yes 31's will fit no problem. You could go with 32's too. Some guys even run 285/75's (33's) with no problems.

you can put a 33x12.50 on a stock wheel most of the time without issue.

I've heard of this on the 3/4 tons, but not on the half tons. Then again, I've been surprised before. I'd like to see it, just out of curiosity. But yes, 31's or 32's will be fine. Even a narrow enough 33 will fit.

I had 31s on my 2wd 1/2 ton. These trucks came stock with 31s, so no reason they won't fit. I'd personally get 32s, fills the wheel wells out some, IMO looks better.
