First off thanks for this great forum. Been reading up every time I get a chance.
Second, Ive got a 99 Chevy Silverado 1500 New Body Style. The truck was a stock 4.3. I got the truck with no motor at all. Just truck and 4l60E. The frame mounts and all were gone. Just the 2 tubes the frame mounts bolt to on each side were there. I decided to throw a 5.3 in it, got a good deal on one from a 99 silverado 1500. $375.00, motor, harness and ECU. Couldn't complain. 102,000 orig miles on motor. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out the frame mount/motor mount combo. Ive got the motor mounts that were on the 5.3. The frame mounts I picked up at a junkyard from a 2000 extended cab, I am not sure what that trucks configuration was as it was picked pretty much clean but it did have a "T" VIN, should have been a 5.3 right? The motor mounts fit the frame mounts perfect. The frame mounts fitting the truck are another story. Passenger side seems fine. On the driver side the tubes are shorter and the frame mount will not bolt up due to hitting the frame. Anyone have any suggestions or know right off hand a good mount to mount recipe? Any input appreciated.
