Nitto Trail Grappler is the cheapest I would personally buy.

My Firestone Destination AT's were $171 each (285/70/17) and I love them. My last set got 50K.

For cheap look into off name brand tires. But I have to agree my hankook rf10's are a little pricey but you get your moneys worth.

:word: And being in Texas there is a good chance you are near a city with an abundance of little used tire places.

I love my treadwrights, but alot of people are against those type of tires.

There is a 100 plus page thread about the treadwrights somewhere in the offroad section. There are a lot of positive reviews, and a lot of people running them. My buddy owns a set and loves them, and they are on a f250. He tows weekly, and normally has a bed full of stuff and the last time I saw it they looked good. He has over 30k miles and they look about half worn.

Had a friend get some used mud tires from discount tire a little back like right around $500. They were probably only like 10-20% worn but they had been returned because the customer did not like them.
They were an off brand tire but for the price he took them over the street tires his truck had.

Excellent. There is a thread is the offroad section. People have pics and reviews in there including me. I dont havem uch mileage on mine, b.c its just a work truck, but i haul heavy loads to make truck squat and no issues. Their excellent in snow, ice, rain and whatever. I dont go offroad, never had chance to so no idea how they are. I have treadwright wardens. they are 90 a tire
