We have an 89 C1500 that we are yanking the 10 bolt out of and doing a 14 bolt swap on, it has 3:42's. We also have a 74 C10 that has a 10 bolt with ridiculousness for gears I believe they are 2:73's. The 74 has a 250 six and a 3 on the tree. I know it isn't a bolt in but is it close dimensionally? I don't mind welding in new mounts.

It depends on what the 14 bolt came out of and which 10 bolt it is replacing.

GM 10 bolts, both 5 and 6 lug have a wheel mounting surface (WMS) of around 64". A 14 Bolt rear axle out of a single wheel van, for example, will have a WMS of 70".

Regardless, you will have to do some spring perch and shock mount relocation and then figure out what you want to do for brakes. If you are throwing in a 14 bolt you may as well consider doing a rear disc brake swap with 3/4 ton calipers while you are at it. I dont know what you require for an emergency brake. THere are plenty of options out there for you.
