I just bought a 2005 Silverado 3500 Crew Cab, Long bed, 2WD with a Duramax. It has a gooseneck ball and plug in the bed. i need to install a reciever, and 7 way plug for my travel trailer. it looks like someone has been cutting wires under the rear of the bed. does anyone know of a "link" to any sites where i can view pictures of what it should look like back there. It looks like there is some kind of "block" that it should plug into, but it currently has no cover on it and all of the pins are exposed.

I'm haing a tough time getting replies to any of my questions. Today I drove to the local chevrolet dealer and layed under the back of a new truck trying to figure out what it's supposed to look like.

i doubt many take pics of their wiring. it sounds like its been hacked into. so i would do like i always do when i get a new truck and redo all the trailer wiring and plugs with new stuff. trying to make the old corroded stuff work is just going to cause you headaches

I ordered a new distribution block, and the three harnesses needed to do the licence plate lights as well as the right and left bed side markers...oh and 4 missing bed-to-body bolts. The bad news is I still need to find the two harnesses to do the right and left tail light assemblies. The GM dealers can't get them unless I order the whole tail light units($260 each).

thanks to a fellow member, I have tail light, and trailer t-harness coming to my mailbox soon. I keep my fingers crossed that this all takes care of some messy wiring
