Ive searched but cant find an answer.. Never noticed this noise before. Sound is loudest under the ficm or in that area
Possible fpr going bad? The normal typewriter tick is usually on drivers side, which I have. This is on the passenger side towards the front

kinda sounds like an exhaust leak to me

might be because im used to gas motors and havent actually worked on to many diesels..or at least duramaxs

I think it's junk.

The easiest way will be for you to just give me the whole truck, it'll look nice sitting next to the other black HD. :D

mark you had me for a second when I read that first part lol.

I've heard possibilities of an exhaust leak but this seems to be coming from right next to the ficm under the egr. I might have a local diesel shop take a look just to be sure. Engine runs great, no misses, unusual smoke or fuel in oil. good oil pressure. it may just be the colder weather becausethis just started about a week ago. Added a higher concentration of diesel kleen and after it's up to operating temp I don't hear it :dunno:

sounds like beginning of a small exhaust leak to me if it goes way when warmed up and since it started recently

but again i dont do much with the duramax, going off my experience with gas motors

Added a 32oz bottle of outboard 2 cycle oil last night with a fill up and with some driving today shes silenced. I think it may have been a sticky injector or sticky something..
