Well, this year, I have added a 2012 Sure-Trac car hauler to the collection. Now my wife and I are shopping for a travel trailer. Stopped by and found one we liked. Talked to the dealer, researched the trailer after we got home, and the dealer is $4K under book.

Now for the kick in the seat of the pants...it is a 33', 11,300 lbs (loaded), 9,000 lbs (unloaded)...has two sliders, sleeps six...etc, etc, and so forth. I let the dealer know that I am towing with a '99 K1500 'Burban. He tells me that if they put on the new torsion bar setup, not the older chain and bar style, in the 1,200 lb model then I could safely tow this trailer on level ground without worry of sway...

Maybe its me, and in all honestly all 3 of my local campsites (2 county parks, and 1 state park) are within 10 miles of my home and the roads are level....however...even with air bags for support, I can see this thing squashing the crap out of my Burban.

Thoughts??

To much weight. Suburban is rated for 6500 lbs.

Yes, I knew that it was too much, however I suppose I put it on here for entertainment purposes. If we do get the trailer, he told me that he would bring it to our house for no additional charge. That would give me ample time to ante up for a 2500. I did hit ebay and craigslist this morning looking for 2000-2002 2500 Burbans. Just trying to get my ducks in a row.

Get atleast a 3/4 ton.
Most camper or rv dealer are just that a salesman. Meaning if you have a 1/2 ton it's 1/2 ton towable. To many stupid people on the road already don't add to the mix.

Agree...there ARE too many stupid people on the road. For the knowledge aspect, what is the tow rating of a 3/4 ton Burban? I do like the advantage of having premium space when I travel...
