I have a 1998 Silverado with the 5.7 and just got a max energy programmer. I know you can change the shift points/firmness, rev limiter, and top speed limiter, but I was wondering what settings would be best to improve performance in my truck without causing problems. It is mostly stock performance wise, only things done are a cai and mild exhaust. I also have 31" BFG's if that makes any difference. Will probably be using the 87 Octane tune, but might consider the 89 or 93 if it would really make that much of a difference. I just don't want to set it to something and then cause something to go wrong with the trans or anything. Thanks for the help!
