Ive been pondering the idea of say a rolled 99 and up chevy with a 67-72 body on it. Even for that matter a 88 and up body? My crazy idea in my head says by cutting the 88+ body off EXCEPT the firewall and floorboard which would include dash etc....yhen cut the floor and firewall out of the 67-72 cab and sit it on. I know it would be harder than that lol. But has anyone tried this? I mean use all the newer trucks stuff but put the old body right down on it......ideas?

swap the drivetrain out of the newer truck, and call it a day. its not like either truck is going to handle superbly anyways, they're both trucks. if you want a softer ride for your truck, replace the worn out suspension.

What would that accomplish? Theres tons of aftermarket for those trucks, including the frame/chassis. The only advantage I could see would be a little stiffer frame in the nbs

The only advantage I could see would be a little stiffer frame in the nbswhich is easy to duplicate with a plasma or cutting torch, a welder, and some plate steel.

Dude my 98's rear suspension rides 100x better then either my 78 or my old 79.

I LOVE THE IDEA! so much so that i did a lil research for you and found out that the 00's cab is an inch longer wile the 70 is 1.25 inches wider...im not sayin it wont work but you gunna need to trim the floor down in the rear and add to the sides.. And befor i forget you will also need to trim the firewall down about a half inch so the dash is lower and wont be in the big windshield haha..I love when people actually use there imagination and want to build somthin diffrent than anyone else there is to many 70 models done resto-mod riding on 18-20in rims and airbags... Look at Ed "big daddy" Roth or George Barris... They didnt care what other people thought they just wanted to experiment and had the nerve to do somthin diffrent.... Hope you do it! I'd be glad to help anyway i can... And if you dont do it i just might

Im still thinking on it. I do have a 85 Monte Carlo Ss frame /parts car I was thinking of using as well? Heck I could cut the bed down to fit if it was too extreem. Anyone tried that? I know guys have used mc front frame sections. I can save a cab from the crusher and have been wanting something different and with the mcss suspension it would deffinately ride nice. Any ideas?

Well i wouldnt cut down the bed... I would go cut frame rails out if another mc and extend the chassis first... Its not hard just make shur its square
