We went mostly to answer a bet of how slow my friends mustang was. I also wanted to take my Tahoe just for fun.
My Tahoe went a best of 16.6138@85.25. The seccond slip is my best 60 ft. of the day.

I was expecting slightly faster but not concerned as this is the family machine!

The mustang was exactly what I thought it was. It is a 306 with a small cam 5 speed car. Looks good but nothing special.

The bet was 13.5 or slower. I knew traction and the driver were working for me. He got two clean runs at 13.7 and 13.8. Slicks of some sort it should be right at 13 flat. Here are vids of the two clean runs.

13.7 seccond run of the night

13.8 last run of the night

For the record I had never sat in the car before but gave it a shot down the strip after driving 50 feet from the staging lanes and ran 14.8 and something else rediculous on my seccond try.

The et of the Mustang is right on target but as soon as you step away from the factory cam. I'd expect over 100mph.

Yea I get in arguments all the time over how slow mustangs are.

People just assume they are fast. If you go to the track and look them up online you will quickly see how slow they truely are. He had some runs over 100 mph.

Again slicks should net the car approximatly 13.0 and that would be with everything perfect.

Not trying to knock the Mustang. It's not slow. Factory 87-93 Mustangs are usually mid 90's for mph.
If it's all tuned in with a good driver. Upper 90's is the norm. Just saying add a cam to the upper 90's the stockers are running. He should be 100 +.

The mustang is slow like every other one on the road. Like anything mustangs can be fast but they take some serious modification. With slicks this car should be running around 13.0-13.1 at 105+. That still isn't very fast for a fresh rebuild with a .030 overbore, cam, upgraded heads, and intake.

Like I said in pt.net, that car needs a driver or has some issues. Your research is not correct. A stock foxbody in good running condition is a high 13 second car in the control of a capable driver. Especially a notchback.

EDIT: is Milan way above sea level?

How long has it been since you have seen a true STOCK Foxbody?

Most are probably running a new exhaust, headers or some form of mod to help their performance a little. I don't expect many to run an all OEM car and then try and run it down the track. Some might try to say its all stock but I wouldn't believe them.

I'm just saying that 13s is a little high IMO I may be completely wrong though :cheer:

Custom2500, what times are you running with your 2500? Any vids of your truck running down the strip?

I'm thinking of buying out my old work 2500HD, it wasn't mine originally but it became my work truck, then I ended up doing a ton of work to it and now it might be time to retire it and get it running like a beast.

My 2500 doesn't do anything, but sit, since feb. I pulled the engine and bought a 408 shortblock. Hopefully this winter I will finaly have the money to finish it up.

I have owned 5 stock fox body cars.

EDIT: I originally said completely stock. I have owned 1 completely stock fox. The rest had slight mods when bought. I do not like buying heavily modded cars.

Well that depends on what mustangs your talking about....93 and older yes slow but have potential. 94/95 same. 96-2000 eh better. 2001-2004 not to shabby and ALOT of potential. 03/04 cobras..... come on full bolt ons and your a 500 rwhp. 05-09 look pretty and can move. The new 5.0s.... just back away and watch them go.

Around here no stock Fox is touching the 13's. But no stock LS1 GEN 4 F-body runs 12's either, and the LS1 cars run 12's, some run 12.7's bone stock witha 6 gear.
