we are fine tuning a 1973 454 that was in a 1984 36' motor home. So far we found the cylinders to be bored 0.030" over and a 268H comp cam. that looks tired. Planned improvements; 800 edelbrock carb, 7161 edel. intake, flowtech headers and a cam - that's where i need some advise.
It's going into a show truck - 1985 1 ton chevy, 400 trans, 4:10 gears, 40" dick cepek tires, 9' lift. In choosing a cam, we've had so many suggestions from local back yarders i feel like we at back to square one. The truck runs anywhere from 1500 to 3400 rpm with a hot 350 and that 400 3 speed trans. It will never see mud nor off road again. Just sat night cruisin and car shows. So what kind of cam, maybe number and brand specific would you guys / gals suggest? thank you and i do need some vacuum for brakes.
