I have a 95 3500 that I bought about 3 years ago and it's had this weird quirk with the cruise control that I'd like to fix once and for all.
I'd like to mention that I did install a new PMD with a relocation kit out behind the front bumper since that was mentioned to me before but it didn't change a thing.
Anyway, here are the symptoms:
1- I can turn on and set the cruise control at or above 30 mph and it's fine. I can push on the accelerate button and it's fine till I hit about 41 mph, then it will disengage the cruise and I can't set it back on till the next restart.
2- If I don't use cruise after starting I can set it on till about 41 mph and then I can slowly nurse the speed up with the accelerate button and sometimes get it to 55 or even 60 but if there is the slight up grade or head wind, it will disengage and won't go back on till the next restart.
3- If I don't use cruise after restart but drive above 45 mph or so and then try to set the cruise, it won't, even if I slow down and then try to set it, no go, as long as I've gone above 45 mph.
4- If I'm towing, I can set the cruise at low speeds (after starting) but when I get close to 40 mph it will disengage and not go back on (all of these even turning the little switch off and back on) till a restart.
