Is the factory 2" exhaust too small?

I have a factory true dual setup and the exhaust shop wants to replace it and says 2" with those cats is very high flow and plenty for the stock engine.

I figure that a 350 needs at least 2.5" duals going thru the cats and into a dual in/out muffler...

what say you?

depends on how much power you are making.. I had a 97 excab short bed with a vortec 350. only mods where edelbrock TES headers and a magnaflow 3 inch single from the muffler back and it made 265 hp to the rear wheels. my 1996 3/4 ton 350 with the larger 2 1/2 inch pipes doesn't seem to make nearly the power, but that could be the fact that the 4l80e saps alot of power out of the driveline.
