I'm adding a 7-pin connector to my truck and found a single unused wire in the harness at the back of the bed. The wire is yellow and small gauge, maybe #14 at the most. It even had a tag alluding to it being for a brake controller. This truck did not have a factory trailer connector or related wiring. And, this wire does not show up in any diagram in my cheapo Haynes manual.

In wiring up the 7-pin connector, could/would this wire be connected? What's its function? Is it what is typically "the blue wire" from a brake controller--If so, it's not the usual heavier gauge? And, most importantly, where's the other end of it? I can't find it under the dash.

if its #14 you dont want to use it. the brake was blue probably #10 and orange aux power wire same size. if you dont hav ethose you are going to want to run your own in the proper size
