repairing fiberglass on boat

on the keel of my old fiberglass boat i have some gouges, not so bad it is going to leak water, but i would still like to repair it.
they are about a 1/4" wide, and just 1/8" or less deep.

what should i do to repair it? i would like it to have a smooth finish when im done. but dont want to spend much money at all doing it.

bondo? fiberglass mat with resin? just resin?

generally u can get by with resign since the damage isn't so bad

will the resin be thick enough as the damage is on the bottom side of the boat? i didnt think about that until now, im afraid the resin may just drip down.
