Ive searched and searched to no avail.

I purchased a Nav unit from another chevy owner that totaled his truck. OEM navigation with Bose system (he said it was a 2011, but I'm not sure). I have a 2011 LT with onstar, XM, and bluetooth.

-On the back of this new nav unit there are 4 square connectors (2 are common to my unit, 1 is back up camera, other I dont know what it is), FM antenna, GPS antenna, and NO data bus connector.
-On MY head unit there are 2 square connectors, FM antenna, and data bus connector.

My questions:

When I plug in the new Nav head unit theftlock comes on, which I pretty much expected to have to program. What do I do with my data bus connection (looks like a almost like mini USB plug)? Do I leave it unhooked, or is there an adapter to go into the unused sqaure plug on the nav unit? If I just leave it unplugged will I lose my XM and Onstar?

Also, since I already have the roof mounted XM antenna, do I still need to install a GPS antenna?

Lastly, will I need to amp the Nav unit? I do not have the Bose system in my truck. I do have a few high end aftermarket amps lying around from past installs.

I apologize if this topic has already been covered, I could not find a thread that answered my questions. Thanks!!!

I just did the same thing in the last couple of days , hope i can help some. I have a 2009 Chevy crew. I also do not have Bose.

Im not familar with the USB connector since my truck does not have it. But is should just plug right back up like your other one.

You will not lose your Onstar or your XM and your steering wheel controls will still work as normal

No, you will reuse factory antenna since your replacing with OEM unit.

You will need to amp it. I ran across a factory unit that I bought , guy said it was for Non-Bose truck.
When I took it to a buddy at dealership when he programmed it, first thing I saw was powered by Bose on screen on bottom left corner. Everthing worked great but could hardly hear it. I didnt want to do all the extra work on an amp. So I turned around and sold it. I found a factory OEM HU the was made for NON-Bose trucks off ebay. It came with everything I needed to install. Came with GPS antenna,VSS wiring and of course up to date nav disc. I did also get a Lockpick so I can watch DVD while driving. After installing everything I noticed it was made for a hybrid , but it works and Im happy.

Hope this helps .....
