I had my ECU tuned this past Friday and ever since the tune the stereo would not turn on. The tuner asked that the stereo be turned off during the tune so I turned it off from the deck and didnt think anything else about it. After the tune was complete the radio would not come back on!
I have an aftermarket Pioneer deck hooked up to the chime box and into the factory harness. Immediate thinking would be to check the fuse, so I started with the radio fuse ( it was good ) then proceeded to the fuse in the deck ( it was good too ). Plugged it all back up and nope didnt work. The deck its several years old so I figured it may have fried so I plugged the factory deck into the harness that controls the power and chime and it would power up and play. So this would make one think that the deck was fried, I wired it up to the battery and it wouldnt power up ( it was dark and couldnt see exactly what I was doing ) so I called it a loss. Well today I went and bought a new deck, and wired it up and guess what?? It wouldnt power up either!! So I re-wired my deck that was in during the tune ( could see this time ) and it turned on when powered directly to the battery. So this tells me something is off somewhere and I dont know where to start looking?
Anyone have a clue what happened here? or point me in the right direction of where to start problem solving?
I dont mind hard wiring the whole deck and avoiding that whole chime box and factory wiring harness but dont have a clue what fuses to tap into to do that?
Any help is appreciated!! I am sick of hearing every noise my truck makes :;lol:
Thanks In Advance!!
