Well leaving work on Monday, I got down on the truck just a little and as it was getting ready to shift into 2nd the truck started screaming. I figured "oh well, it blew a header gasket." I wish it was a header gasket. It blew a hole in the driver side header about 2" from the head big enough to put my pinky finger in. Needless to say they hole can't be welded up. I want a set of cheap headers to put back on, preferably long tubes but right now, I'm not picky.
Does anyone have a set of ebay headers and had them for a while? I want a set of these stainless ones so that they won't rust like the painted steel ones that I had.
Long tubes

Mid length

Also, having long tube on my truck now, if I switch to a mid length header, will I lose some power or not enough to tell?

I have a set similar to the second link you posted, they are stainless steel. I really like them & they are still in the same condition as the day I put them on which was almost a year ago, except they lost their shinyness, they are bluish towards the block & silver as you move away. If you go from long tubes to mid length you will lose some power, not sure how noticable it will be though.

I ended up going with the mid length ones. The are in now and look great. They turned really blue though already. Only have about 20 miles on it. I don't care though so long as they don't rust. Did you have an issue getting any of your bolts in because of it being really tight beside a header pipe? The bolt on the back side of cylinder 6 on the passenger side, I had to modify the bolt itself by grinding off the round lip off the bolt because it was touching the pipe, holding it at an angle. Ended up working out though, only because of the lock washers that I used though.
By the way, your engine looks great. Need some chrome valve covers on mine now.

Yea the bolts on mine didn't like too be started with the header against the block. I had to pull the header all the back from the block with the bolts partially screwed in & then work them all until they were tight. Took awhile but it got the job done.
Thanks, its alot cleaner now than in those pics. I keep it cleaner than before, I switched back to my factory air intake. While I was at it I did the ultimate tbi mods too it to.

Next time dimple the primaries beside the header bolts. It will make them much easier to start the bolts.
