I have a 88 Silverado and want some beefer front and rear swaybars. Are there any other vehicles I can get them off that are bigger in diameter? Thanks for the help

Look for a z56 tahoe (tahoe limited or police package) thats what mine came off of and I really like it.

Suburbans have a 7/8" rear bar that will fit with a little work.

Some 88's didn't come with front sway bars, so any bar might be a step up. I think the 1 ton trucks have a bigger bar, but I'd measure it eye-to-eye to see if it swaps, I've heard of it being done, but can't cite a source so check it before you buy it.

For the rear bar, like bdiamond said, Suburbans have a rear bar from the factory (none of the pickups came with a rear bar) which can be installed VERY easily. I have on on my pickup and it made a huge difference in the handling. From the suburban I got the end links, bar, bushings (which I replaced) and the end link mounts (bolt to the frame with two bolts). Installation was just a matter of bolting the brackets to the frame in position where the end links would be vertical, 3" muffler clamps around the axle to hold the busings and bar to the axle (don't pinch the brake lines!) and the only fabrication part, lengthen the end links so the bar is level at ride height (you want a 90 degree angle between the endlink and the bar at ride height).

I'd swap in the rear bar first if you're not going to do them both at the same time, it was by far a more noticeable difference over my oversized front bar (I got it unused off of kijiji), I think it's beltech.

I don't know what you mean by building, but if you mean it literally...

If you mean using a burban bar, here's a picture of mine... pretty ugly but damn it's functional.

Also, here's an adjustable on a car pretty close to a C6-R driven by a guy at the local track where I used to live...
