ok well i hope to start building a mount for my truck tomorrow and now that i look more into it im not exactly sure HOW to mount them.
only thing im sure of is i want to build a mount for them on the front of my truck bed, preferably as high as posible and still be under the bed rail at least an inch, and going crosswise from left to right.
i just gotta took a few quick snaps of the ideas im thinking of. BUT i will be using 2 compressors so just imagine half of it with the compressor doubled over on the other side as well ;)

the mount/frame will be built with some steel square tubing. painted to match the truck (eventually, just not right away due to winter weather! ) unsure if i will build the mounting feet with just the tubing from the back of equipment on a square turn OR if ill make it a whole shelf, tho i am leaning more towards a semi floating look and not full shelf.

either
1. Everything inline compressors on both sides just on one shelf. simple enough, and will give more free space under everything when hauling anything with everything tucked up higher.

2. Air tank ontop stacked above both compressors. BUT with a 90degree elbow on the tank and leader hose.

3. Compressors ABOVE the air tank just reverse like above also with a 90degree elbow on leader hose.

i think both 2and 3 would look good, but 1 is also better for a more outta the way setup. im just split decision big time!
and either way i plan on doing my best to hide the wires and any extra hoses along the new frame mount for everything to bolt onto. run afew adaptor and elbows to go behind the air tank for everything but the leader hoses. the leader hoses will just get a simple 90degree turn most likely.

and my truck is my daily driver do everything with it! and i go to junkyard ALOT so i haul quite a bit back in my bed on a regular basis.
heres my current bed that ill have to change up the front area of course since there where im putting everything. and i will be building the whole mount with steel tubing just like i used on my camper shells roof support i slapped up there. and i will be redoing the roof support soon as well by simply removing the 3 cross bars and slapping a piece of 3/4mdf carpeted as well on the roof, but will still have the 2 bows that go from left to right. (without the roof support the roof sags hardcore and looks horible on a lowered truck since you see the roof easily. ;) )

wow nobody has a opinion... im shocked. and well i didnt get any work done on the mount today. i cleaned out the rest of the bed and went down to the local carwash and washed the crap outta the bed! ;) so now its all cleaned out and ready to start. i even washed the carpet on the camper shell really good as well. and luck enough my wash place has a new blow drier hose setup in the bays and lucky for me it stuck ON.LOL so i got like a good 10mins or more doing my best to dry out the bed and campershell carpet pretty good. i just wish the whole thing stuck to the ON position and then i could have washed and dried the exterior of my truck real good as well.LOL o well.
still a good starting point for me to build the new mount from! i think its the cleanest the beds been since right after i bought the truck and hand washed it myself.
im also really glad im switching to a aluminum tank after draining my old tank after removing it.... talk about a rusty mess in there! hopefully i wont have this problem again! tho now i am thinking about changing up the pluming alittle bit MAYBE.... not sure if i want to slap a water separator on there or not. ive got one already but not sure if i should or not. water shouldnt be a problem now since the tanks aluminum and the drain plug will be alot easier to access now and no more worry about a rusty mess to clean up, as well as the bed is always covered by a tono cover or camper shell i got.

^and yes i still need to buy new gas shocks for my rear glass. the ones i slapped on it were way to strong and they are the reason i snapped one of my old hinges off. and after paying 50bucks for a new pair of hinges i decided to pull them off till i buy the right strength ones. to bad i dont know the strength they need since i threw the old shocks away :(
