I just bought a 2000 Silvy 4x4 and I assume it has the 4l60e in it. It has the 5.3 motor with 149000 on the ticker. What should I do if anything with the tranny? It has a real hard shift from 1st to 2nd but other than that is shifts fine. Should I change the fluid or let it be? Should I do a shift kit with the servo swap or anything like that? I just want a little better performance out of it. I had so much trouble outta my old 95 Silvy that I am afraid to try anything. Thanks for the help.

Yup. Does it shift hard only when cold, or all the time?

It shifts real hard when cold and gets better after it warms up.

I say flush it. I flushed mine and it fixed the hard shifting problem. I got 176k on mine.
