I bought a low milage, rust free(except for the front bumper?) 98 k2500 (cheyenne) a few months back for 3k from my g/f's brother.
It came with a 5th wheel hitch, brake controller, true dual exhaust, computer tune and some other odds and ends. I think I got a great deal. :)

Had it about a day and had to turn the T.B's up. Can't take it out of level.

I noticed water in the floor, pulled all of the interior out and found a small pond on the drivers side. Tracked it down to a leaky windshield seal. Got that fixed and had to address the lightly corroded floor pan. Wire wheel, self etching primer and duplicolor saved the day.

The fuel pump decided to die on me a few days later so I figured I'd clean the frame up. I needle scaled the frame and applied a few coats of sherwin williams chemical coating.

While driving to my parents house a lady pulls out in front of me and boom. Police called it my fault because it was in the rear of the car... (Still haven't figured that one out yet but it is what it is)
it didn't hurt the radiator or condenser nor any of the coolers so that's a plus. Did however trash the hood, grill, bumper, pass fender/inner fender, and slightly bent the frame. I pulled all the torn up parts off so far. Ill post pictures when I take some.
So with all of that said its time to change a few things for my personal liking. More to come...
