Anyone have the firestone kit number for the air bag kit with a c-notch flip kit for a 97 chevy. I just want to verify I get the right one when I order. Ride rite #2252 with controller #2178. The purpose for me doing this is the flip kit dropped the
truck a few inches lower than I thought, tucking a couple inches of tire and I would like to raise it up 2 inches in the rear, and maintain that height when towing my car trailer or airstream. I am also open to suggestions or comments, but it is a daily driven 2500 and I do not want to go into a full on air system, just a bolt on kit to help the factory parts and able to adjust from in the cab.

i would get some 1" lift shackles and then get the helper bags, cuz itll be hard to get the helper to raise the truck more than 3/4" or maybe an inch if ur lucky

The helper bags should easily raise the truck 2 inches or so. Problem is to raise the truck much with helper bags you are going to make the ride hell therfore the shackles are a good idea. To make your current plan work out properly you need to pull a leaf or two out of the pack. This will lighten the load capacity of the spring pack and allow the bags to pick up the slack and raise the truck without making the rear stiff as a brick.

touche!...good idear
DO NOT start pulling leafs out! :read: Take the flip out and install drop leafs or a shackle/hanger kit to get the 4" drop you want. Use the helper bag kit for nothing more then leveling and ride comfort. :read:

Taking the overload and a leaf out of the main pack will not cause any issues. If the pack has 4 or 5 then taking 2 you will also be fine. People freak out about pulling a leaf or two and there is no reason. Idiots say because of safety, what they don't understand is only one leaf holds the axle to the truck and the rest are just to add spring rate. Most people are afraid of axle wrap. If you pull one leaf from a pack of 3 or 2 from a pack of 4 or 5 you will not have issues with axle wrap.

I would put the stock shackles back in and with the bags you should be good to go.

I got my helper bags in my truck. It lifts the rear end 2.5" from empty to 50psi. Here are a few pictures of my set up.

WTF ^
heres the right way helper bags.
i had to drill 4 new holes for the helper bag bracket with my djm notch. with using the notches center bolts the bracket would hit my flip kit. so before ya do all drilling check for clearance, otherwise you might have to redrill which SUCKS... look at the picture and see how i know.LOL
