71 chevy c-10 restored from the woods. 1st place in my local car show!!!!

i picked this truck out of the woods for $300 and put $1700 and my time into it. heres what i got hope you like. i thought id share my build. it had a locked up motor so i had another 350 i built to throw in it. i removed the stock exhaust and went to dual exhaust with cherry bombs and 90's in front of the wheels.
i replaced the center drive shaft bearing. all new brakes, shocks, wheel hub rotor assemblies, ball joints and tie rod ends. new radiator, i also installed a hydrogen unit on this truck and increased my hp and fuel economy by 4mpg. turned out great and sounds great to.

yeah, it actually really works. i was skeptical at first until i understood how it worked. id have to refill the solution mixture every 1,000 miles though, that was the only downside. but the fuel savings and performance was worth it. i will see if i can find the link online where i got it from and add it in a post. i ended up selling the truck so now its gone. but i kept the hydrogen unit. was thinking about putting it on my 97 silverado with the vortec 350. the kit comes with a wiring kit. you have to wire it in so when you turn the truck on or off it will go on and off that way it doesn't stay on because hydrogen gas is extremely flammable. the kit all together was like $800

im working on getting another 71 c-10 short box step side with a 4 speed. will know by the end of the week. i also know where i can get a 72 with a 454 and turbo 400 in it 2wd just around the corner from my house, body is in good shape. i want to do another one.

i have a older model one that was made 2 years ago but is for the v8's. i also have another one from a different company that does the same thing but different design. i tried both on the 71 c-10. and used the other model mostly till i just sold it. just thought id share my build photos with you guys to show what can be done in a 30x30 building and $1700 & some tools.

Wow, that looks great! Not much rust for a northern truck, either.

What did you spray the truck with...... especially the flat brownish black colored layer. Did you media blast anything?

the 1st place was in the stock class by the way. and the hydrogen generator was installed on the truck in the second video. and i know that the gps has no importance but in 71 they would have thought it was like startrek lol

the flat brown was a marhyde hi build primer ( its really good for high low spots since this truck had dents everywhere) the flat black under the hood was a single stage flat. and the exterior was duplicolor 3 stage but i thought the primer was of poor quality so i used the marhyde primer.

I wish I could find something in the woods worthy of being worked on, and actually own it. I've found 5 vehicles in the woods....... some sort of old panel van on/near my uncles farm, an upside down car from the 50's when I was a kid while wandering off of my families property, a pair of MG's on some property that was forsale that I was trespassing on just out of high school, and my other uncles old Toyota car that literally rusted into the ground. I saved the jack from the old Toyota. I used to use it when I first started driving. The Toyota was an early 70's something or other.

yeah the rockers were shot on this truck. so welded in replacement panels and cab corners. and did the body work. the driverside rear box was sideswiped so i did the best i could to get her strait again. i loved the rumble and sound of the crackling cherry bombs.

well since i last posted on here i bought a 71 c20 short box stepside for $900 off e-bay. its a 4 speed with a 6 cyl. i already have plans on dropping in a 350 or a 383 stroker in it. i will be doing another build. i will do a build sheet on it and will share when im done.
