How much less do your tubular arms weigh then the stockers?

What diameter is the tubing they use? Do they use a stock style ball joint?

Don't know the weight difference

Most use stock style ball joints

But most are designed for bags or are drop Control arms.

The stock stamped steel pieces are pretty light. If the factory could build it lighter they would. Most tubular arms I've seen are built pretty battleship like... I bet they are heavier than stockers. Light, cheap or durable, pick two...

The factory can build them lighter. They now make them out of aluminum. I would be willing to bet the built like a battle ship aftermarket ones aren't any hevier then factory due to better materials.

Someone has to have installed tubular arms and have atleast a side by side feel comparison.

What tubular arms are you looking for weights on? If we build the arm I can go out in the warehouse and weight one. Later Beau

I have a 2001 GMC 2500. Thanks Could you post a picture of yours also. I have shock waves up front so I would modify it as such.

That is what I figured you where looking for. We don't have anything for the lower arm on that truck. We have the upper control arm. It was not feasible to do the lower arm and the stock one worked out great for that truck. If you want some pics and weights on the upper one let me know. Thanks Beau

Yes I was looking at uppers and lowers.

Uppers are far more important because my ball joints are at near 180 degrees when laid out.

Also what diameter tube do you use?

i lol'ed when i saw this....sorry chop

and to the op.... i got a set from fbi rides but im pretty sure they didnt build them (they are too good of quality..lol) So i dont know what brand exactly they are but i know they are every bit as heavy as the stockers. These have a 3/16 plate where the bags mount to so i know rhe lowers for sure are. On mine they also use the stock style ball joints. I think most were designed on the basis of ease of installation and to clean up the look. I cant vouch for it as i didnt try my stock uppers...but my upper ball joints arent maxed out whe layed out either so it may help with the angles there as well.

EDIT..... I just remembered... a member on here told me that they look the same as the chop n block arms. I remember looking it up and they do look exactly the same. Dont really think that helps anymore but figured id try
