heating it up really isnt gona do anything but waste your time. when you mod your coils for a drop, your supposed to cut them half a coil at a time. reinstall and see how much drop you get from half a coil at a time. Yes I know thats gona suck. doing so its still gona sit like it normally would in the spring pocket and wont distort or bend when under pressure if it was heated up. FYI best thing to cut this with is a cut off wheel. What i did is get some extra coils, found some for 50 bucks and cut those where i wanted installed and saw how it sat. if it doesnt work or you dont like it you can always pop in the factory ones. keep in mind this is the cheap verson vs true drop.

If you are not gonna do it with the proper lowering parts then cutting the coil springs with a cut off wheel is safe....heating is a no no:read: Why take a chance:(

x2. You at least have a chance of retaining some actual ride quality with cut springs.

Cutting would be the way to go, but a set of drop springs isn't too terribly expensive.

I agree with the posters above ^^^^^

Heating them up really shouldn't be an option.... **NOT SAFE AT ALL**

Lowering springs are pretty reasonable but if you're on a super tight budget cutting your stockers might work.

dont heat them. cut them! i did the ones on my old car and it dident really change the ride qaulity too much. but drop springs really arnt that pricey. especially since you then know it will be level on both side lol

The quality of your spelling is right up there with the quality of your idea. Do it right or not at all. Either cut the springs or get a drop spring.

The older I get the more blunt I find myself becoming. IN a few more years I will just show up at peoples door and beat them with an axe handle.
