I have a 1994 2 door Blazer/Tahoe and I will be upgrading my stereo over the next few months and I am looking for suggestions and recommendations on the proper speaker placement of the front and rear speakers. Ideally I want the front to be in the kick panels and I will buy some components for that. I already have a 12" Kicker L7 for my sub and it will be run by a 800 watt Kicker amp. I am lost on where to place rear speakers in my truck. The factory ones are up in the headliner just in front of the liftgate window.
To get a true feel of a soundstage in a vehicle, wouldnt it be stupid to put speakers behind the drivers listening area? Someone with some good knowledge of car audio please school me a bit. A few helpful links will also be of great help. Im not looking for some super high end stuff but just something nice that sounds real while the windows are up.
FWIW, I plan on buying an Alpine deck. Maybe a CDA 9887 or 117. I have had good luck with the Polk Audio components I have in the kicks in my camaro. I am running them through a 250W amp. I plan on using that same amp in my truck and I may even just pull the Polks from the car.
