Tire size help

I own a Pewter 2WD 99 Suburban LS with the 5.7L and stock wheel/tire combo 235/75/15's. I would like to put some 15" Cragar soft 8's with 31/10.50/15's if they'll fit. I have all the local shop gurus telling me different stuff so I figured it better to comes ask those with actuall experience. I have searched and most are trucks with 3" BL's. I'm not into heavy offroad use but would like availability every now and then.

you should be able to clear the tire, but you have to figure in the flex and tuck when you would be off road. the 235's are about 28.5 inches tall i believe. if you where to have a torsion bar style front you should be able to have them cranked and clear the 31x10.5's but you could allways go with a small lift too. next time you see another vechicle like yours just take a look at the tire size.
