Wassup fellas I got some cash saved up an I'm get the radio done in my extended cab I'm gonna put a new head unit an speakers all around...here's the problem we all know there isn't much space in these trucks so I'm thinking of going with 2 8inch subs like in a tube or separate boxes so I'm looking for some input as far as which are the best 8inch subs out there an should I run 2 in tubes or boxes ? Or one badass one ? I'm not trying to spend more than 250 or 300 on the subs any input or advice is greatly appreciated thanks fellas

What year is your truck?
For a budget setup that still pounds pretty good, I'd go with a prefab under the rear seat box for 2 10" Kicker CVR's.
You could eBay the two subs and box for less than $250 all brand new.

i say 1 L7 8 in a ported box if you have the room. Even 1 sundown sa-8 would be sickening in it if you have the amp to push either

yea ive herd about those sundowns im just gonna save a little more money and get 2 sundowns in a custom ported box under my back seat...the guy is charging me 250 for the custom ported box is that a decent price or too high?? he said he'd build it to specs depending on my finally setup but ive never done a real legit system so dnt know if that price is right ??
and another question... i have a kicker amp its a zx700.5 my question is that amp enough to push 2 sundown sa-8's??? thanks for the knowledge my dudes

You will be happy with the sundowns!!! And that's a bit pricey for a box. But there is a lot of work to be done to make it fit under the Seat so it's reasonable, make sure it's a ported box also!!! And that's a 5 channel amp so I would run your speakers off that and depending on how big the sub channel is it may be enough but I would look to put about 600rms to the pair at least

the kicker L7 solo 8inch or the sundown sa-8inch ??? which do you guys think is better?
or would a prefab box from ebay with a pair of 12"s sound better ??
if the pair of 12's is better which subs should i rock? im a young dude so i like the nice deep bass that you can hear and see lol

SA-8 hands down. Kicker is alright but is nowhere near the quality that it was 10 years ago.

8 are where its at man. i have a buddy that has eight 8's in his denali. they pound and have set a few records around here. instead of just two 8's you nee to have atleast 4. if you were to go with something like that, they would hit harder than 2 15inch subs. with the right box 8's are where its at. remember its about cone space when it comes to speakers.

^ lol WAT ^
all on your price range, but keep this in mind.. the SA 8's are reconable if you blow them. hit them and make holes ect.. while the kickers are not...

Atleast 4? Lay off the crack man. A single 8" is more than capable of hitting upper 140's on the TL. It all depends on how you want to get your sound.

Impressive. However it is a fart box in a CRX. Also not sealed. Outlaw so i assume sensor at the kick?
It usually means a short lifespan for the sub, but i have seen a single 8 bass race in the 139.9 class.

i know its not... but its still damn impressive concidering that can get that score from a SINGLE 8"
outlaw is usually mic in kick and drivers or passenger door open.. not really sure around here we do DB drag legal metering.. mic on window and sealed up...

Sealed at the dash is the most accepted.

thats how i roll, it sucks going online and you see people hitting big numbers but then when you read and ask you realize they are meeting with a door open or a window or at the head rest.. once my trucks is playing again ill be moving the mic around.. i know it does a 155.x at 41hz with the drivers door open

It could be worse. Down in this area kids like to go to radio shack and buy a cheap $30 DB meter and stick it in a port and claim they are so loud that a meter doesn't go high enough.
