Anyone use the Pacesetter LT's with their cat-less Y pipe? I was wondering what you did with the O2's? I remember someone saying he used a sparkplug non-foulers for the rear sensors.

Im thinking of getting a set of LT's for my birthday, and Im trying to figure out how to run the exhaust. I was thinking of going that route or just using the stock cats welded into a new y pipe.

Right now its a stock exhaust with a Spintech cut in the stock location, with a 3"in 4" out slash cut rolled edge tip. Sounds good for under a $100.

Let me know what you think!

I just unplugged the rear o2s at the connector. They were previously turned off with a custom tune.

I thought of that, I was jus trying to see if there is a way to do it without a custom tune.

Get a custom tune, you wont regret it. If you do buy pacesetters, get the Y pipe over the trans. crossmember first.

If I get the rear O2's tuned out, will the truck still pass inspection? When they plug it in wont the computer show them as N/A and fail it?

My truck only has about three more years until it doesnt need to pass emissions, and they dont inspect it visually now anyways.

Turning the rear 02s off won't do anything negative with the computer or inspection. People have been cutting the rear oxygen sensors for years and pass emissions. I guess if you really wanted too you could run cats but there is no way in hell you will run them in the pacesetter y pipe cause there is not enough room. Also there are only two oxygen sensor bungs in the y pipe so you just delete the rears totally.

Just do yourself a favor and get an ecu tune. Its the best mod you can do to your truck. GM really corks up the factory tune, so getting the tune willreally help you out, also may get you a few mpg. I picked up about 1mpg, but typically never see it cause my truck is alway wot lol

Ok cool! I figured the truck would fail emissions without the cats, but it makes sense if you have a custom tune.

Will the truck run OK with out the custom tune? I ask because I don't want my truck down in the winter time waiting for the tune. I'd rather do it in late spring, but would like to install the headers before then.

I ran mine for about 8 months with out a ecu tune. All that will happen in the computer will trip the cel and you will run really rich and burn more gas

I would run a stainless header instead.

I run coated pacesetters and the ory. I have run them for over a year. They still look good.

They make a catted y-pipe also.

Would using the rear O2's with a non fouler in place make it run close to normal, or not so rich? Many use this on other cars, but I dont know with our trucks.

You would need to drill and weld a bung to thread the rear o2s into the Pacesetter y pipe.

Get a tune and forget about it

By the time you d!ck around with anti foulers and get them welded in you almost have a tune. The anti fouler is a hit or miss. Sometimes it works. And sometimes it does not. I wouldn't drill and weld bungs in the y pipe because there really isn't room for them

Just got a deal on some LTs. Brand new in the box coated pacesetters with all the hardware AND flowmaster ball socket connectors for $200. I think I'll thow them on with their y pipe, and just get a tune later on this spring.

So it'll just run rich until I get the tune? That's no sooo bad I guess...

Mine doesn't seem to run to awful rich with lts and no tune.

that's good to know. What gaskets do y'all suggest I use? Stockers, or something aftermarket? I know people say to use the original hardware.

Also, on their ORY, do they slip over the collector, or are they a weld on deal?

Do not use the original hardware or the supplied junk. Factory oem gaskets.

We reused the oem gaskets on my bros truck. Its got like 130k miles and it doesn't leak at all. We also snapped off 2 bolts onone side ( front and rear) and 1 on the pass side (right in the middle). Everything is fine!

I have over 100,000 miles on the pacesetter gaskets, still no leaks. But yes, I would use OEM gaskets, way better.

OK!

So I got them in, and I have a huge problem! The front driveshaft u joint is hitting the primary tube, so much so that it rubbed a pinhole throught the tube. Has anyone ever had this issue? It friggen sucks because now I have to take the header out and weld up that hole!
