I just bought an Escalade so it's time for my 1999 Suburban LT 4x4 to go. I bought it new 13 years ago & it has 211K miles on it. Only 1 small dent in the left rear. No rust or body repairs. Everything works except: I never installed the e-brake cable & I have the passenger vanity/visor light unpluged because the cover broke so the light would stay on.

In the last 4 years I've only put about 10K miles on it but I drive it at least once every 2 weeks. I ran it thru DEQ(Oregon Emission Testing) last month & it passed. In the last 4 years I've easily put over $10k into the Suburban playing with it. It was my therapy for a headon car accident I was in 3 years ago.

I would like to sell the Suburban whole but I may part it out. Currently asking $4000

To buy a fully forged 383 crate motor it will cost 2x what I'm selling the whole Suburban for. At this point I would let the motor go for $2800 plus shipping cost.

My son that was driving the Suburban traded in his dead Blazer for a car today so now I plan on advertising the Suburban locally. My guess is I will be parting it out. Not thinking there's a big market for hotrod Suburbans. LOL

just out of curiosity, what does it get mileage-wise? 8 mpg or so? I need another truck vs SUV but damn I'd love to have this. exceptional price too

I get 13-15mpg around town/back roads, 17-18 hwy. With the torque this motor has + the 4.10 gears it tends to stay in overdrive when going uphill or passing.

any idea on hp ratings?
If i could get it for 4grand id be over it, but the cost of flying out there then driving it back kills it for me. i need another truck asap! damn.. gl

The hp is currently limited to the limits of the fuel system but the motor should be good for ~450hp or so. It's got better takeoff than my 6.2L 403hp 6 speed Escalade.

I would love to buy this and swap everything to my 96 standard cab stepside z-71 but my GF would be pissed...I just got out of debt. I am fairly close too in Reno, NV.

Sold her last night for asking price to a very cute soccer Mom who loved the sound & power. Kinda sad to see my Burb go. Alot of fun family memories in her the past 13 years.
