flip out nav screen hitting the shifter ideas

Hey guys, I just baught an early 07 sierra. I'm gonna install a 7" nav/dvd screen. I prefer a moterized flip out screen but as many of you know, the shifter is in the way when in park. My question to yall is, has any one bent the shifter up a bit so to make room. It seems to be made of metal so I would think if done right, it could be bent just enough to clear but still look factory. Any ideas would be great. Thanx.

ive heard of people juts people very cautious when closing the deck, like ppulling teh shifter toward teh steering wheel. Im in Boerne as well lol:charge:

People do bend them. I just set my screen to never go in
