So I've decided to go a different more cost friendly way with my truck. My next modifaction was going to be dropping it, but I've decided to keep it stock. I'm really jealous of my bro's system so I need one too. Since my cab is so small it shouldn't be hard to do.
SO my main question for the guru's is will I need a better battery or an alternator. With my efans my charging system suffers a lot. I have the 105 amp alternator and a red top autozone battery. What is the weakest link? The battery or the alt? I'm hoping it's mostly battery and I can throw a yellow top and do the big 3.
What I will be running a Kicker Solo-baric L3 10'' with a 500 watt JL audio amp through an 8 gauge EFX kit from crutchfield. No speaker amp right now.

What do you all think?

8 guage is on the small side, especially since EFX is not a true 8 awg. I would go with a 4 guage kit from kicker or shok or something along those lines. But other than that stock electric should be fine with the big 3.

Thanks. Where do most guys run the wires through the firewall?

Usually I run it through the existing harness grommet.

put it all in. get a good wiring kit 4 guage would be best... and watch your voltage WITH the efans on and if it drops alot get a upgraded alt.
