So a few months age we put pacesetter longtubes, pacesetter ORY on my bros truck with a flowmaster 40 series and we thought it sounded decent. Well this week he switched to a Spintech 6000 Single 3" in and Dual 2.5" out with split rear duals and 3.5" tips. The sound is mind blowing!! Sounds awesome and probably the best sounding non cammed silverado i've ever heard.

Now know why everyone loves spintech. I will soon be switching my magnaflow for this!!

Forgot to mention its a 01 Z71 with a 5.3

Other mods:
Performance Plugs
MSD Wires
K&N drop in
ECU Tune

Now for the results..... Enjoy!!

That makes me miss my Spintech setup even more. Are the two cats still in place? With headers and that muffler, it's amazing how the stock engine suddenly sounds like it has a mild cam.

I've been preaching it ever since I first got my Spintech pro street muffler (6000) setup that anyone who is thinking of or is partial to Flowmaster, needs to pull their McHead out of their McAss and shop Spintech. Those videos ought to further support my push for Flow folks to make the switch to something better.

I saw it asked but not answered...stock cats? I did pace setter long tubes, no cats and a borla XR-1 dumped...too loud. Changed out to spintech 6000...too loud. Now I am running both mufflers in-line and running it out to stock location and the sound is really nice. I should have just left the cats in place.

This is crazy! I just posted up about bolting on some pacesetter LT's. I already have a Spintech 6000 on mine and it sounds great! This sealed the deal for me....

Watching these vids makes me tingle below the waist :naughty:

We are running the ps ory no cats for the time of being. He has a 3" thunderbolt cat that we might add at some point but its such a cluster fvck under there that we can't find a good place to put that cat in.

I have longtubes ory with out cats and magnaflow and its sounds really nice too, and its not loud at all! Do you have any vid clips cause id like to hear that borla spintech combo sound?

Does it get fairly raspy or poppy over 3200 rpm? Mine did with just the borla.

Tweaks moved on to a corsa , quite possibly the best engineering to take place on earth.

Yes it gets a little poppy at slow take off but at wot it sounds mean as hell. Surprisingly enough mine sounds similar to the spintech at half throttle going through the gears, like in the 3rd vid. Mine at wot pops sometimes when wot shifting from 1 to 2, I like it but some dont

Yes, this pretty much sums it up. I love Spintech but had a craving for Corsa too. Both sound great to my ear.

I had a feeling that truck in the videos doesn't have cats. Sounded just that extra bit more raw and raspy to me to have cats. Still terrific sounding though.

For those wondering if that 6000 dumped before the rear axle is too loud, that's exactly what I had prior to my current Corsa setup and the honest answer to that question is no, it's not too loud. The only difference between my Spintech and Corsa setups was that the Spintech droned just a little bit on the highway and that's why I switched to the Corsa no-drone design.

Lastly, if anyone can manage to score me a stock cat-back for a NBS reg cab/reg bed and is willing to ship it to me, I will compensate you by removing my fully polished stainless steel Spintech setup from my dad's truck and ship it to you so that you can enjoy it. I used the stock cat-back from his truck to create my Corsa setup and I hate knowing such a sweet Spintech exhaust is living under a crappy neglected work truck. I'd rather see the system go to someone who can appreciate it like I did. It's a longer story still as to how that Spintech ultimately ended up under my dad's truck, but it's definitely something I regret so help me undo that and you will be rewarded with a top notch cat-back exhaust.

Here's photos of what my spintech system looks like. It's about 3 years old now and probably not so shiny, but metal polish ans steel wool would clean it right up. It's some really nice stainless steel so regardless of the road grime accumulating on it over the years, internally you know it's as fresh as the day I installed it.

And here's my current Corsa setup. Pardon the poor running condition as this was immediately after installing a newly updated PCM tune and my truck hadn't learned the idle just yet.

I should have thought about making the exchange at that time. I guess it's been a long time stewing but I am sick of hearing such a nice system on such a POS truck. Way back when, I went back to MN to run a marathon. I come back home and find that the Gibson Supertruck system I had just taken off to allow the Spintech to go on was now living under my dad's truck. I was pissed. I took that system off so that it could be thrown in the trash or recycled. That Gibson system was rotted to hell so I knew it would drone the cab like crazy and wouldn't last long under his truck. Since he took his stock cat-back off, and I was then driving a lot for paramedic school related stuff, I was itching to make a last ditch effort on the cheap to have the Corsa sound. So I hacked up his stock cat-back and used a Corsa Db muffler to create what I have now. I wanted to splice in a mellow muffler to remedy the exhaust on my dads truck and selling the Spintech at that time didn't seem wise to me because I had decent money into that system so I simply put it on my dad's truck to keep the thing from sounding like A$$ and to temporarily help him out because we have inspections here and it never would have passed with that junk Gibson system under it.. A few years later, I am really wishing I had just spliced in a muffler on my dad's truck and given the Spintech a proper home.

Now's your chance! Give him a nice stock system with a spintech cut in the stock location ;)
