View Full Version : Is there a way to blink exterior lights, but not the dash?

Once I get my 95 a little more presentable I thkn I want to put in keyless entry with remote start in it. I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing, I've put in alarms before. There is this one thing that kinda bugs me, though.

All the install instructions say to catch the exterior lights at the switch or at the fusebox. However, when you do this it makes the dash lights blink with the markers. It really doesn't matter, since you're not in the car when you activate RKE, but it's something that annoys me for some reason.

Is there a way to hook the alarm/remote to the emergency flashers? I could probably figure that out, but I don't have the electrical diagram handy.

You could use a diode when you hook up the alarm to the park lamp circuit. This will keep the voltage from backfeeding and lighting the dash lights. They make a diode that is used for people that tow vehicles such as behind RV's. You wire them in so only the rear lights work, and not the front. It is something to look in to.
