I recently purchased a 2008 Z71 2wd Silverado. After driving a lifted '98 Z71 for a few years, I'm itching to lift this one. I would like to be able to put 35's on it, and need some input on the best way to go about it. I have heard that I might need to do a gear swap if I go with that big of tires. Who makes the best 2wd lift? How much am I looking at? Wheels and Tires? I could use opinions on nearly everything.
P.S. I know this is the wrong forum section, but if anyone has any input on exhaust that would be appreciated. I prefer a lot of noise, because after having a truck that was loud it is almost weird driving one that is stock.
Thanks

Rough country 7.5 inch kit. Regearing would be a good idea for that much of a change in tire size. And check out the exhaust thread in the performnce section there are lots ersoof options and videos of different set ups. The rough country lift is one of the cheapest but they make a very quality product tires depends on what you'll be doing with the truck. Cooper stts are highly recommended and look awesome. Wheel selection is all personal taste

best answer your gonna get haha ^^ right on the money, exhaust just depends on how "loud" you want it ive got a single glasspack single in dual out and its loud on the outside of my truck and i can barely hear it on the inside i wish i could hear it a little more haha

You could swap to dual 12 inch glasspacks. Split them before the muffler and run two. I truly hate glasspacks on an ls engine but my buddy went from a SI/DO to a pair of the 12 or 8 inch whichever are smallest and its definitely louder.

If it were me id run 325/60r18 cooper stts on 18x9s that's the set up my cousin has on his 2009 z71 and it looks great. Another thing to look into is a custom tune from Blackbear or Nelson or wheatly. Not one of those handheld programmer things. But a true tune. I would regear upgrade my exhaust and put the tires on first though. They can re configure your computer to adjust for the larger tires and different gears.

It's so many way you can lift it. Do you want you truck sittin way above 35's or just clearin? As for exhaust true dual straights, cheap and loud. If I were you I'd just go with 4" rear blocks and match the front with 4" spindles and 2" lift springs. SpringTech has that lift I was just talking about. I hear they are good quality.

just a personal preference, but i honestly think straight pipes sound awful, especially when you dont have an H or X pipe. Definetly put some sort of muffler on there so you have a clean loud, not a scratchy and oboxious sound.
