View Full Version : 16.8 to Florida!
We are off with our '99 Tahoe from west-central Indiana to Florida. We have a CAI and a hybrid cat-back exhaust (Magnaflow 3" SS tailpipe and polished 4" tip with a Flowmaster muffler). We gave her an oil change with Mobile 1 just before we headed out and we got the mileage up to 16.8. The 20s and the mellow exhaust has turned a few heads. Tomorrow is a Disney day.

North florida is what I would say is real florida. You could not pay me to live in south florida.

i went to miami for the first time last week out of my 18 years here in florida and i swear i would never live in south florida it sucks, id like to live on the gulf though
Those pics were taken in St. Cloud, outside Orlando. My grandmother lived here year 'round way back when and we have been coming down at least once a year even now that she is gone. It was my Mom's Mom and our family came down several times a year to keep an eye on her. My wife, son and I usually came in April and Oct. Then in the summertime we went on vacation!
I loved this part of Florida back when they still had sand streets and no crowds. We drove the interstate down, but are planning on the backroads on the way home.
And we are glad we packed the winter coats. It has been in the 80s here, but Fri back home looks like 27 degrees for a high!

Good looking ride.
I have been all over FL and no offense but you can have the whole place. I have been from Pensacola to Daytona to Tampa to Miami and the Keys not my cup of tea. Too flat for this ole boy from the mountains of NE GA.

Well, there are some kinda hilly places in Fl, but few and far between!
And they do have some interesting roadkill:

Yep, that's a roadkill bear we photoed just outside Perry, Fl yesterday. Wouldn't have wanted to hit that sucker! Especially if he wasn't killed instantly. I bet he woulda been po'ed if he was just "wounded"!

That is wild. Never seen one run over but around my home 20 it is a common occurance to have to dodge the crazy things.

Yeah, my Grandmother lived in St. Cloud for over 20 years. My wife and I went down in April and put her air conditioner in and then in Oct we took it back out and stored it in the shed. Our son grew up going to Disney at least once a year all his life. Of course back then the streets were all pretty much sand. It sure has grown up over the last 39 years!
I think I liked it better way back when! ;-)

At least Florida is like Indiana and is a right-to-carry state.
I hate florida! If I didn't have a child I can't leave behind I think I would be gone... I live about 10 min from the gulf on the part that hangs off on the map and it's way too flat. We have to drive 2hrs just to find some half way decent wheelin'. The rest of my family is up in NY
