Flip kit + shackles

I plan on puttin a flip kit and leaving my drop shackles on my 01 silverado. Will I need to notch the frame? I'm putting 2 inch coils in the front.

Absolutely. Axle will be mere inches from the frame without.

Only 2 inch drop in the front your truck will be lower in the rear than in the front I would think.

It won't be that bad I have 2 inch drop shadows in the rear and no over load leaf and the front still sits about 3/4 of a inch lower. And if its squaring a little bit it won't bother me.

You need to look harder, and a 99-02 will look the same as an 01. Try the static drop thread.

just gotta look hard man. or go check out the static nbs thread over on gmfullsize.com. with only 2'' coils you'll be at a 2/7 drop and will be rollin cali big time!! id go with atleast a 4'' drop up front to get rid of the cali. rather have a slight rake than cali imo

a flip kit alone on that truck gives you a 6" drop, with a 7" drop your frame will be on your axle. I have the same truck with a 5/7.
shock extenders are a must too, they help a lot with ride quality in the rear

yea deff i got the drop shocks as well just keying the front i reckon

The front shocks are a lot easier as far as shock options go because you can run a factory length shock

A flip kit on your truck with no notch will result in your bumpstop looking like silver dollar pancakes on your axle and you will bottom out hard if you hop a curb even a little, that, with a 1" shackle would be even worse and I wouldnt recommended it at all.

Mine rode like crap before I notched with the axle flip. There was about an inch of travel to the bumpstop. A notch is a must.
